When you vacate your apartment, the building manager will order the refund of your security deposit, less any charges for damages and/or cleaning. YOU CANNOT USE YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT AS YOUR LAST MONTH'S RENT.
If you have kept each and every covenant of the lease, including timely rent payment, you will receive interest on your security deposit, calculated at the rate specified by the current city ordinance.
Although the law allows 45 days for the return of the security deposit, you should receive it within 2-3 weeks after the date it has been ordered or after you have vacated the apartment, whichever occurs later. You must provide Parker-Holsman Co. with a forwarding address and phone number. Your deposit will be mailed to that address.
Be sure that you have returned all sets of apartment keys to the janitor or our office.
