Rental Management page | Moving your belongings | Notification | Inspection
Your lease requires that you move your furnishings in and out of the apartment using the rear entrances of the building. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of your security deposit. You will also be charged for any damage to the common areas. In consideration of the other tenants, please arrange to move your belongings into the apartment between 8am and 8pm. The manager, his assistant, or the janitor will check to make sure you do not violate these requirements.
You must notify the building manager of your general departure date as soon as you know it. At that time you will be provided with a memo outlining the departure procedures.
If you are vacating the apartment before the end of the lease, you are still responsible for paying the rent until either the end of your lease or a new tenant occupies the apartment. There are two ways to "break" your lease:
After notification of your departure date, you will need to schedule an inspection of your apartment for when all your belongings have been removed. You, or your representative, must be present at this inspection.
During the inspection, we will assess the overall condition of the apartment. The apartment must be left in the condition you found it, normal wear and tear excepted. By being present during the inspection, there will be little confusion about what is expected. Also, we will provide you, prior to the inspection, with departure procedures and normal cleaning charges for unacceptable cleaning.
