Creative Reuse Warehouse (Combined from the Spring 1999 and Spring/Summer 1997 issues)
Our old friend the Resource Center has always had a passion for saving useful items from landfill death. Now they have still another way of rescuing one man's junk and transforming it into another person's treasure - The Creative Reuse Warehouse!

Businesses and individuals discard good "junk" almost everyday that could be recycled into materials for creative expression. If you have scraps, seconds, and by-products from manufacturers, let them know. The Creative Reuse Warehouse makes these resources available to teachers, artists, parents, and service groups. If you teach or create and want to utilize this resource, let them know. Prices are small and negotiable and swapping is encouraged.

What do they want? Here are some items on their wish list that they will pick up (if in good condition) and give a new home:

• Fabrics, office supplies
• Storage bins, shelves, pallet racks
• kitchen ware, dishes, silverware
• Comfy chairs, sofas, gas stoves, lamps, rugs
• Odd things - big quantities of scraps, ribbon, cardboard tubes, glitter, widgets, whatsits, whatever (they once acquired a van load of artificial flowers from a florist shop that went out of business; these materials were then used in a Chicago Public Schools art program)
